Course Summary
This one-day course presents a step-by-step approach to Agile Estimating.
Duration
1 day.
Objectives
Estimating accurately and precisely is difficult at best. In addition team members are often at odds with their business partners over when they can deliver. It seems that the business is driven by targets (the need to fulfill a certain obligation), they often ask the team for an estimate (an educated guess as to how long it will take), which is then interpreted by the business as a commitment (a promise to deliver). Unfortunately the business doesn't understand that all estimates are just that, estimates and that's where the trouble begins.
In order to be better business partners, we can learn to properly represent our estimates to them, and to get better at estimating overall. By understanding the fundamentals of effective agile estimating you; avoid last minute scrambles, protect your teams reputation, mature your organization, and help your team to be compliant with ethical standards. This course will teach you the fundamental concepts behind effective agile estimation in a hands-on and real-world way. The course is full of tried and true techniques that are fun and easy to apply and will get you up and estimating immediately following the course.
